There is certainly a lot more to being an artist than just making art! From writing artist statements and applying for grants to navigating insurance, AOB can help you along the way.
This November and December, Art of Biddeford is hosting a series of professional development workshops to help you build practical skills and strengthen your art practice, so you can feel a little more confident navigating the ins and outs of being an artist.
Coming up this fall:
All workshops take place at Heart of Biddeford (205 Main St, Ste 103, Biddeford ME 04005).
Sliding scale: $5–$10. No one turned away for lack of funds!
Space permitting, walk-ins are welcome, but we encourage you to register in advance to reserve your spot (see below for registration info).
Whether you're just starting out or have been making art for years, these workshops are a chance to learn something new, ask questions and connect with other artists in our community.
We hope to see you there!
What's the difference between an artist statement, bio, CV, résumé, project description, and all the other jargon you encounter in calls for artists and exhibition opportunities? Larry will break it all down through hands-on exercises and you'll leave with a new or revised artist statement, a clear artist bio and the tools to build or edit your artist résumé.
